Work with children who are allowed to try things
What it is like here
There is no syllabus to get through and no marks to award. That sounds freeing, and it is — but it also means the responsibility sits with you. You decide what a group does on a given afternoon, and you answer for whether it was worth their time.
Groups are small, so you will know every child you work with by name and by temperament within a fortnight.
The hours suit people who want their mornings: sessions run late afternoon into the early evening, Monday to Friday.
What we look for
Qualifications matter to us less than these do.
Patience with children
Particularly with the child who is slow to join in, or who has decided in advance that they are bad at this.
Willingness to improvise
Plans meet real children and often lose. We want people who find that interesting rather than stressful.
Seriousness about safety
Supervision, handover, and a calm head. This part is not flexible.
Straightness with parents
Telling a parent honestly how their child is doing, including when the answer is not the comfortable one.

Run storytelling, art, craft and games for children aged 3 to 8, and help them build confidence and communication through play. Freshers welcome — we care more about whether you can connect with children than about your certificates.
